Deleted all accounts and the.txt file in the 'C: Users Username AppData Local Activision CoDWaW players' folder. I then deleted the file 'Treyarch.bik' in the folder 'C: Program Files Activision Call of Duty - World at War main video' Problem with Fix 4. Couldn't locate aboesaid folder i.e. Users username.
Did try deleting the file 'treyarch.bik' but to no avail Fix 5. The trick is to insert your DVD or mount your.iso file and navigate to DVD Drive: Setup Data zone english This folder contains all of the fastfiles for each level in the game, these are vital for loading. Sometimes, the installed files can get corrupted, so the best plan of action is to Copy and Paste them all from the DVD folder into the installation folder. Status - Replaced all files from DVD still didn't work Posting all fixes as it may be helpful to someone else facing same issue. Unfortunately none of the fixes worked for me. Any other bright sugegstions please? Is it safe to post Hijack this & CPU Z logs?
I was thinking of posting well in advance but thought it would be better to seek advise from Mods first. Finally solved it. Here's another fix that worked for me - 1. Run dxdiag and see if your card is running as emulated.
If it is, go into regedit, search for words “device presence”. Change emulated to 0, VXd to 1 and WDM to 1. Find all of them and change. Be patient as there will be lots of 'Device Presence' all over registry. Best way to do it is Click on edit Find (Control + F) type device presence and hit enter change values as stated in step 2 and now keep clicking 'find next' (Shortcut key F3) and keep changing values until you reach to a point where you get a notification pop up stating 'No more entries found'.
You will also notice 'vertical scroll bar' on left hand side of your screen will have been scrolled all the way down once you're done. Intellectual Out!

I bought the game back in 2009, played it for some months with no patches (it ran well and smoothly, no problems). Then I quitted playing and deleted the game, due to.

Although it feels exactly the same as the last 5 CoD titles and that the graphics look pretty bad, I will say that it is a solid game. The thing that CoD Blops 2 did right is pretty much the one thing that the CoD games always get right, and that's packing tonnes of content into the game. Even if you don't have online, there's SOO MUCH to do.
Campaign with different paths, zombies with the ability to splitscreen it with a mate and multiplayer with the ability to splitscreen it with up to 3 mates, or just go in on your own and verse up to 9 computer-controlled players, or both at the same time. To sum things up, if you enjoyed the previous Call of Duty titles, then chances are you'll probably enjoy this one, if not, go to a friend's house and check it out. What Aaron said was right, I myself had issues with this for the past 2 days since getting my hands on the game.
(kept reinstalling the game (4th time as of now)) Basically followed what Aaron said, aside from mucking around with firewall and antispyware scanning. What I've found was, if I launch the game without changing anything and leaving as original date (as of right now for me Nov 15, 2012, 2:40PM) then the game executable will launch (after having steam installed and not logged on or opened), but it will be a BLACK SCREEN, and the Dolby Logo will not come up. (So you'd have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete out of there and the End Program window will be there to get you out.) Here's my own scenarios that I've tried so far: If I go ahead and change it to +8:00 Perth time, launch game again, the Dolby Logo WILL come up, but after it fades, it's just a black screen. (Attempt ex.1) (THIS ONE IS WORKING(for me so far)) If I leave the time as is, change the date back to the 15th (yesterday as of this message, and the day i did the 4th reinstall of the game, and gave up reinstalling the 5th time), launch game, Dolby, Treyacrch, and Activision logos will come up, and I will actually able to click start, and change in-game settings, or continue campaign. So it will run all the way for the first part (So this is good news) (Attempt ex.2) If I change the time back to Central Time (for me), the date will automatically go back to the 14th of Nov. I launch the game, it will just be a black screen.
(Attempt ex.3) If i change the date back to the 15th, keep the time on Central, launch the game, it will be a black screen also. (Attempt ex.4) All the above tests proves Aaron's true with, you have to keep the date on the day you installed the game, AND put the time at +8:00 Hongkong or Perth in order to launch the game without black screen. You will still see the Unhandled Exception message when you Ctrl+Alt+Del every single time and the time you quit the game. Fair warning is that you will get the occasional freezing at the logos if you keep pressing random mouse clicks.
For anyone else, you can try my above method or try someone else's suggestions, but before I tried Aaron's suggestion, the game wouldn't even run at all, so I installed steam in (and I do have a steam account) I logged in, and then logged back out, and exited steam, kept steam off for the entire time testing. When I said the game wouldn't run at all meaning, it would run the executable in the background, and nothing on my screen would change, it would just stay at the desktop. So I checked my SLI settings, installed to different directory, then almost gave up, then moved the game directory out of Activision folder into Program Files (x86). I am running Win 7 SP1 2GB DDR2 ram, and fresh installed Win 7. 2 SLI nvidia cards.
Hope all works well for everyone else until the game patch comes or update for the fix. I fixed mine.
Laptops with nvidia optimus tech will probably have the same problem. It seems that the executable files of CODBO2 are defaulted to run on integrated videocard.
The integrated videocard cant handle the game. To fix this just go to your Nvidia control panel then -got to program settings.select a program to customize.
(C: Program Files (x86) Steam SteamApps common Call of Duty Black Ops II/t6mp.exe,t6sp.exe and t6zm.exe) -go to 'Select the preferred grapchics processor for this program' and select High-performance Nvidia processor. That will fix it most likely.
Hope this helps. Have a nice one. Good day.:-). Tell us some more.
